An Israeli Knesset member from the right-wing Likud Party led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stuck to his call to burn Gaza, a day before a hearing at the International Court of Justice on accusing Israel of committing genocide in the Strip.

Weeks ago, Israeli MP Nissim Fatori wrote on the X platform: “Burn Gaza now and nothing less,” before he deleted the post after it sparked angry reactions in Israel and abroad.

In an interview with Israeli radio, today, Wednesday, Fattore said that he does not regret this post, even though the number of Palestinians killed since the beginning of the war has reached more than 23,000.

The extremist MP added, “I stand behind my words. It is better for us to burn and demolish buildings than for Israeli soldiers to be harmed.”

“There are no innocents in Gaza”

In an interview today, which was reported by Israeli newspapers, including Haaretz, Fattore said, “In the northern Gaza Strip, we evacuated everyone, and we were able to evacuate 1,900,000 people in an organized manner, and 100,000 remained, and I do not think there are any innocents there now.” According to his expression.

Also during the interview, Fattori also disparaged the trial of Israel in the International Court of Justice, on charges of committing genocide, according to the lawsuit filed by South Africa against Tel Aviv. He continued: “We are grateful that we had the honor of being tried in The Hague.”

Since the beginning of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, many statements have been issued by extremist Israeli ministers and representatives calling for “burning Gaza, dropping a nuclear bomb on the Strip, and striking and destroying homes.”

Since last October 7, the Israeli army has been waging a devastating war on Gaza that has left 23,357 martyrs to date, in addition to 59,410 injured, most of them children and women, massive destruction of infrastructure and an unprecedented humanitarian disaster.
