The American president will not be able to go to this conference which takes place from Wednesday to Saturday in the suburbs of Dallas, Texas, due to his busy schedule – in particular because of the war against Iran – said the White House, confirming information from the magazine Time.
Unlike the last editions, Donald Trump’s speech will not be the highlight of this CPAC.
However, this must serve as a rallying cry and a road map for the Republican Party, before crucial elections in November to decide the majority in Congress, and therefore the continuation of its presidency.
An annual high mass, CPAC usually serves Donald Trump to ensure the support of the main conservative figures in the United States and brings together elected Republicans, right-wing influencers, and leaders from around the world.
Last year, Argentine President Javier Milei gave a chainsaw to Elon Musk, which the richest man in the world brandished on stage as a symbol of upcoming cuts in the US government’s budget.
This year, Polish President Karol Nawrocki is among the guests, as is Reza Pahlavi, the son of the last shah of Iran, who presents himself as a credible alternative in the event of the fall of Iranian power.
