(Washington) Two former FBI agents fired after investigating Donald Trump’s attempts to reverse the results of the 2020 election filed a complaint Thursday against their former boss and the attorney general, according to court documents consulted by AFP.

These two agents, identified in the complaint as John Doe 1 and John Doe 2, are among the federal police agents fired for their role in one of the investigations targeting Donald Trump before his re-election in November 2024.

The complaint filed in federal court in Washington targets FBI Director Kash Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi in particular.

The plaintiffs, who believe that their dismissals last October and November respectively were illegal, are demanding their reinstatement within the FBI.

Kash Patel, accused by his detractors of leading a “purge” within the FBI on behalf of Donald Trump, is currently the target of several complaints from agents he fired.

Last February, the FBI fired at least six agents linked to a 2022 investigation into Donald Trump’s retention of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago residence.

In December, FBI agents said they were abruptly fired for kneeling to avoid confrontation during the 2020 protests that followed the death of African-American George Floyd.
