(Washington) A federal judge has canceled the legal proceedings initiated by the Trump administration against the chairman of the Federal Reserve (Fed) Jerome Powell, whom the American president criticizes for not lowering interest rates, in a decision made public on Friday.

“There is ample evidence that the main (if not the only) objective of this procedure is to harass Mr. Powell into giving in to President (American Donald) Trump or to resign and give way to someone who will,” wrote Judge James Boasberg in this decision dated March 11 and made public Friday.
The federal prosecutor in Washington who launched this investigation strongly denounced the decision canceling this procedure.
Jeanine Pirro, a close friend of President Donald Trump, announced that the Justice Department would appeal this decision, made according to her by an “activist” judge.
More details will follow.
