“To suggest otherwise is not only wrong, but cruel. The Guthrie family is simply victims.”
Nancy Guthrie is the mother of Savannah Guthrie, a star American TV presenter. The kidnapping of the octogenarian, on the night of January 31 to 1er February, has been on the front pages of all American media since the beginning of the month.
In a video posted to social media Sunday evening, Savannah Guthrie, host of the popular morning show Today on NBC News, implored his mother’s captors to “do what’s right.”
US President Donald Trump himself said on Monday on his Truth Social network that he was following the latest developments in the media and said he hoped for a “positive outcome”.
A glove containing traces of DNA, found about three kilometers from Nancy Guthrie’s home, appears to match those worn by a person seen on a video released last week by the FBI, American media reported on Monday.
The images show a masked and armed individual who appears to be operating the front door camera of Nancy Guthrie’s home on the evening of her disappearance.
The FBI has promised a $100,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
