(Washington) Donald Trump, who accuses the BBC of having made a misleading video montage of him, filed a complaint against the British public audiovisual group on Monday, and is demanding 10 billion dollars, in particular for defamation, according to a court document.

The complaint, filed in Florida by the American president, seeks “damages of a minimum amount of $5 billion” for each of the two counts: defamation and violation of a law on deceptive and unfair commercial practices.
The British channel is in turmoil for having broadcast, just before the 2024 US presidential election, separate extracts from a speech by Donald Trump on January 6, 2021 edited in such a way that he seems to explicitly call on his supporters to attack the Capitol in Washington.
