(Chicago) A federal judge on Thursday suspended the deployment of the National Guard in Chicago and its region ordered by President Donald Trump, considering that the situation did not correspond to the risk of “rebellion” invoked by the government, report the American media.
“I have found no credible evidence that there was a danger of rebellion in the State of Illinois,” Judge April Perry was quoted as saying by media reports, reading the reasons for her decision. She described the allegations made by Department of Homeland Security officials as “unreliable” and estimated that the deployment of soldiers to Chicago “would only add fuel to the fire that defense (the government, editor’s note) itself lit,” according to the same sources.
