(Washington) The director of the FBI, Kash Patel, reports on Tuesday his action at the head of the American federal police in front of the congress a few days after his hazardous communication in the investigation of the assassination of the ultra -conservative influencer Charlie Kirk.

This should have been an almost routine hearing before the Senate judicial commission, before that of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, risks transforming themselves into a catch -up on its skills for this strategic position.

His authority is all the more started since the base of President Donald Trump reproaches him, as well as the Secretary of Justice Pam Bondi, their management of the Jeffrey Epstein case, a sexual offender who died in prison in August 2019 before his trial.

Barely a few hours after the assassination of Charlie Kirk on September 10, Kash Patel was boning on X than the alleged perpetrator of this “atrocious murder” was in detention, burning politeness to the authorities on the spot, who were much more circumspect. To have to dedicate itself pitifully after an hour and a half announcing that this suspect, put out of the cause, had been released.

He admitted on Monday that he could “have better formulated this in the fire of action”, but assured that he had no regrets on his premature announcement, this former figure in the conspiratorial sphere priding himself with being the most “transparent” director in the history of the FBI.

Kash Patel even claims a central role in the surrender of the alleged murderer, Tyler Robinson, recognized by his father on video surveillance images disseminated by the authorities, and who must be presented to a judge for the first time on Tuesday.

Like many judicial commentators, the former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner denounces the “irresponsible” nature of Kash Patel’s announcements in this case, openly hoping for his ouster.

“Politicized”

“Kash Patel is dangerously unfit in directing the FBI,” says Glenn Kirschner on his YouTube channel, also citing the accusations against him by former senior federal police officials.

In a civilian complaint last week, three FBI leaders abruptly dismissed in August by Kash Patel accused him of having “politicized” this agency for his superiors, including Donald Trump.

They say they were sanctioned in particular for their opposition to the dismissal of agents whose only wrong was to be considered insufficiently aligned on the priorities of the new administration or having been publicly denounced by the supporters of the Republican President.

One of them, Brian Driscoll, Director of the acting FBI during the first month of Donald Trump’s mandate, until the entrance to Kash Patel, said he tried to dissuade him from dismissing an agent.

“The FBI tried to put the president in prison and he did not forget him,” replied Kash Patel, saying he is obliged to keep his post to return all those who worked on criminal procedures against Donald Trump before his election, according to the complaint.

But this unwavering allegiance of Kash Patel, whose democratic opponents tried to block the appointment because of its defense of the rioters of the Capitol on January 6, 2021 and its supporting support for the conspiracy of extreme right Qanon, could not be enough to save its head.

Her credit is indeed widely started with the conspiratorial fringe of the Trumpist Maga movement (“Make America Great Again”, “return its greatness to America”), frustrated with the shattering revelations which it hoped for in the Epstein affair.

In July, the Department of Justice and the FBI have jointly announced that it had discovered any new element in this file which would justify the publication of additional documents.
