(New York) Maurene Comey, ex-prosecutor involved in the Epstein case and daughter of a former FBI boss who has become black by Donald Trump, challenged her brutal dismissal on Monday, which she only considers political considerations.
In the text of his civil assignment before a New York court, Mme Comey highlights her ten years spent at the city’s federal prosecutor’s office, in which she was responsible for several resounding cases, a course which earned her “regularly promoted and greeted”.
Licensed in a “brutal” manner on July 16, she reports having received no explanation for this sidelining, signified by a simple email referring to article 2 of the Constitution, which defines and supervises in particular the powers of the American president.
“In reality, there is no legitimate justification. They dismissed it only – or mainly – due to the fact that his father is the former director of the FBI, James Comey, or because of his supposed political opinions and affiliations, or the two, “writes the summons.
The former boss of the Federal Police had been brutally dismissed by Donald Trump in 2017 at the start of his first mandate, when he was investigating suspicions of foreign interference in the campaign. Since then, he has become a declared opponent of the president, which he drew in a book a portrait with vitriol.
In New York, Maurene Comey was part of the team of prosecutors who instructed the file against the former businessman Jeffrey Epstein, a sexual offender found dead in his cell 2019.
This file has poisoned Donald Trump’s presidency for many weeks, in particular with his base which is drunk with conspiracy theories, according to which Jeffrey Epstein was murdered to prevent him from involving leading personalities.
Donald Trump has long been close to Jeffrey Epstein, before breaking with him.
