Rudy Giuliani is recovering from a vertebral fracture and other injuries suffered in a car accident in New Hampshire, a spokesman for the former mayor of New York and former lawyer for Donald Trump said on Sunday.
His vehicle was struck by the rear when he was traveling on a highway on Saturday evening, according to a statement published on X by Michael Ragusa, security manager of Mr. Giuliani.
“He was injured, but his morale is good and he recovered very well,” reassured Mr. Ragusa, adding that it was not a targeted attack. »»
Mr. Giuliani, who is 81 years old, was transported to a neighboring and neat trauma center for his injuries; In particular “a thoracic vertebral fracture, multiple lacerations and bruises, as well as left -handed arm and leg wounds”, according to Mr. Ragusa.
Before the accident, Mr. Giuliani had been arrested by a woman victim of domestic violence and had contacted the police on his behalf, said Ragusa. He added in his press release that the accident that followed was “fortuitous and unrelated” to domestic violence. Mr. Giuliani was in a rental car and “no one knew it was him,” said the publication.
New Hampshire state police did not immediately respond to requests for comments or clarification requests on the accident. The same goes for another spokesperson for Mr. Giuliani, Ted Goodman.
“Thank you to all the people who contacted me by learning the news about my father,” wrote Andrew Giuliani, Rudy’s son, in a message published on X. Your prayers are precious. »»
