(Washington) A shooter opened fire on Wednesday in a church in Minneapolis adjoining a school, killing two children and injuring 14 others among the schoolchildren gathered for a mass, police said.
The shooter, carrying three firearms, committed suicide at the place of the attack, said the chief of the Minneapolis police at a press conference.
“I was informed of fire at the Catholic School of the Annunciation and I will continue to keep you informed as soon as I have more information,” said state governor Tim Walz, while the police were dispatched to the scene.
Live images have shown parents coming to pick up their children and leave.

On his X account, the city of Minneapolis said that “the shooter was under control” and that there was “currently no threats” for the inhabitants.
“I pray for our children and teachers, whose first week of school was marred by this act of terrible violence,” added the governor.
Donald Trump told him that he was “fully informed” of the “tragic” attack by firearms in the school.
