“There was no victim,” Lyle Russell, spokesperson for Tullahoma, said in a statement, where the accident occurred.

He said 20 passengers and crew members were on board the aircraft, a Dehaviland DH-6 Twin Otter propeller.

“Three people were evacuated by helicopter to receive medical care, and another was transported by road for more serious injuries,” said the spokesperson, adding that “other minor injuries were taken care of by first aid”.

The device crashed shortly after taking off from Tullahoma regional airport in Tennessee, around 12:45 p.m. local time (1:45 p.m. East), according to the American aviation regulator, FAA.

Lyle Russell said “no airport’s ground or infrastructure installation has been damaged”.

On social networks, photographs showed a small white plane damaged in the grass. One of the wings seems to have been torn off and the tail of the device seems broken.

According to local media, this plane was used for the practice of parachuting.
