(Washington) The Multimillionaire Elon Musk removed a publication on X published at the height of his dispute with the American president, Donald Trump, in which he accused him of being involved in the Jeffrey Epstein case, named after a financier accused of sexual exploitation of minors.
“It is time to let go of the big bomb: (Trump) is in Epstein files,” published the wealthy entrepreneur on social network X on Thursday, which he owns, when his disagreements with the republican degenerate in violent takeover.
“This is the real reason why they were not made public,” he continued, wishing an “good day” to the president in an ironic tone.
In response, the White House was content to qualify these “regrettable” attacks, the American president saying that the entrepreneur had “completely lost the pedals”.
The richest man in the world did not provide proof to his accusations, but he republished a video dating from 1992 in which Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein seem to joke during an evening.
These messages were no longer visible on his account on Saturday morning.
Other publications written or shared by the billionaire, one of which called for Donald Trump, have also been deleted.
The story of Jeffrey Epstein, an American financier at the heart of a vast international scandal of sexual crimes and exploitation which committed suicide in prison in 2019 before being tried, fueled numerous conspiracy theories and obsesses part of the radical American right.
Donald Trump’s government has committed to “lift the veil” on this “repugnant” affair and made public in February many documents from the file, but not its entirety.
According to some supporters of the Republican President, celebrities and political figures close to Epstein are involved.
If the friendly ties spent between the latter and Donald Trump have been known for a long time, the American president has always denied having spent time on the property of Epstein on the US Virgin Islands where, according to prosecutors, the financier engaged in sexual traffic with young minor girls.
Donald Trump, who was the neighbor of Epstein in Florida and New York, qualified him in the early 2000s as “formidable”. “It’s very fun to be with him. He even tells himself that he loves beautiful women as much as I am, and many of them are very young, ”he said to New York Magazine.
In 2024, a New York judge had revealed names of contacts, knowledge, close relatives, victims or alleged accomplices of Jeffrey Epstein, among whom Donald Trump or the former Democratic President Bill Clinton appeared – without mention of the slightest illegal or reprehensible behavior.
If Donald Trump and Elon Musk do not seem ready to reject after their breakup, whose political and economic consequences could be heavy, the situation seemed somewhat to calm down on Friday at the end of the day.
