Beirut- A high mine and a tireless work that puts the star of his last touches on his tourist institution in the town of Batouli, the district of Tire, southern Lebanon, which had been greatly damaged by the Israeli bombing, as it restored the destroyed walls and decoration work inside the Omar Night Hall for wedding.
Since the announcement of the ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel on November 27, 2024, Najm, his family and his workers have returned to his institution to raise the dust of the war and its catastrophic effects, and today it is prepared for the season next summer, which he depends on, like many tourist resorts in southern Lebanon, to compensate for part of their losses that they were incurred by the last war.
Insist on return
A star of Al -Jazeera Net talks about his great insistence to restore the hall to what it was before the war, pointing to the presence of large reservations for this summer, and he says: “The Israeli war was very harsh on us, and we were greatly damaged, as the ceiling and decoration fell, and part of the wall fell after several raids next to the resort, but we returned as soon as the ceasefire and we are trying hard to return things to what they were, and we will resume the work despite everything We are currently preparing for a very promising summer season. “
Najm notes that there is a state of hesitation among many owners of tourist institutions, due to the continuation of Israeli violations against Lebanon, and this is what mainly frightens the pioneers from coming to the south, but it reassures people that the situation in the south, especially in the region of Tire, is stable and safe, and calls on expatriates to return to their country and visit the south to support the steadfast people in their villages.
Absent country
The city of Tire regains its well -being faster than the villages of the judiciary, especially those close to the Lebanese -Palestinian border, as the movement retreats in the cities whenever it approaches the border villages, as is the case in the town of Shuma, which classified tourism due to its distinctive geographical location, which extends from the top of the mountain to the seashore at the point Tourism was greatly affected.
The mayor of the municipality and the owner of the resort (Hill Side Resort), Abdel Qader Safi Al -Din, notes to Al -Jazeera Net to the simple damage to its resort, and he has replaced the broken glass as well as some necessary reforms, and stresses that he is studying the decision to reopen the resort in this summer, in light of the presence of large operating costs, from the absence of electricity that is replaced by generators, and the absence of the necessary infrastructure.
Despite all the difficulties and challenges that come with the continuous Israeli threats, Safi al -Din stresses the need to take the initiative by the owners of tourist institutions, and start the work of reforms without waiting for the state that is completely absent as he put it.
He says: “In the town of Shuma, approximately 250 employees were worked in tourist institutions in the town, meaning 250 families were living from this sector, and this region was intended by citizens from all of Lebanon in addition to tourists and expatriates, due to its aesthetics and the distinguished services provided by these resorts, and for this you must return to its previous era and whatever the circumstances, and not waiting for the state that has never been asked about us.”

Through the Al -Jazeera Net tour on the resorts in wax, the town seemed completely empty of any appearance of life, even the (white waves) restaurant, which was borne in life for many years, is today completely closed, and the effects of destruction are clearly visible, the tables are shattered as well as chairs and glass panels, as a result of the Israeli bombing that affected the region since October 8, 2023.
Since that date, the restaurant has closed its doors in front of its Zuhair, and left 60 workers to their homes irreversibly.
The restaurant owner, Ali Wahba, talks to (Al -Jazeera Net) about these losses, stressing that he lost the first war in his restaurant 22 refrigerators full of different types of meat, fish and various foods, and the cost of this loss is approximately 50 thousand dollars, as well as the cost of continuous closure and the grave damage to the restaurant.
Wahba excludes the possibility of returning to Lebanon and re -opening again this summer, and he is insisting on closing, and he says: “I cannot venture and pay huge money again, because I need more than $ 100,000 to return again, in light of the lack of clarity in the future of the situation in Lebanon, and also I cannot guarantee the safety of customers or employees, because the danger is real and the shells were falling near the war.
Wahba notes that these tourist resorts, which characterized the southern region, was an essential element in the steadfastness of the people in their villages, as it was the move of the economic wheel of the region. For example, 60 employees were working in the restaurant, meaning 60 families.
Wahba says: “The movement of resorts is not only important for employees and their owners, but for the whole region, where many commercial institutions depend on them, we buy vegetables, meat and daily needs from other institutions, which creates an important economic cycle in the southern villages and towns.”
Wahba refers to his keenness to return when establishing security in southern Lebanon, and he hopes to restore life and employees to his institution and that the state and the awareness pay attention to these important economic institutions, and to ask about their condition and compensate them to encourage them to return.
