A spokesman for the Iraqi government, on Friday, revealed a series of initiatives presented by Iraq before the Arab Economic and Social Council, in the context of strengthening Arab cooperation and activating the common response mechanisms of economic and social challenges.
Al -Awadi said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (conscious), that one of the most prominent initiatives that were approved during the meetings is the initiative of the Arab Trade Ministers Council, and the Arab initiative to achieve food security from grains, in addition to the era of Arab economic reform for the next era.
He explained that the council also agreed to include the initiative to establish the Arab Center for Artificial Intelligence, as an important step towards promoting innovation and digital transformation in the Arab world.
Al -Awadi added that the Iraqi initiatives also included files of a humanitarian and development in nature, including the Arab initiative to provide a safe haven for those affected by disasters and risks, and the initiative to enhance Arab housing security, in addition to initiatives that enhance Arab cooperation in facing the effects of climate change.
He also pointed to Iraq’s support for the initiative to enable Arab countries to cooperate with the financial working group for the Middle East and North Africa, and the EGMont Financial Intelligence Group, along with the initiative to establish the Arab Center for the Protection of the Environment from Wars Wars, and the Arab Alliance for Water Resources Protection.
These initiatives come within the framework of the Iraqi endeavor to activate the role of joint Arab institutions, and to consolidate the principle of collective action in the face of the current crises and challenges, according to the agency.
