Christmas Eve was bloody in Colorado where a shooting in a shopping center left one dead and three seriously injured on Sunday afternoon.
It all started when a fight broke out between two groups of people at the Citadel Mall in Colorado Springs, about 100 miles south of Denver.
The situation quickly degenerated and shots were then fired, fatally hitting a man, whose age was not specified, according to what the “New York Post” reported on Monday.
Two other men seriously injured by at least one firearm projectile as well as a woman with slight injuries were rushed to a hospital.
Several suspects were arrested by police who will have to “determine their involvement,” said the Colorado Springs City Police Department.
“The situation is contained and there is no permanent threat to the community,” local police said on the social network platform X (formerly Twitter).
Very busy for the occasion, the shopping center was evacuated and investigators were sent to the scene to analyze the crime scene, the same source added.
