One person was killed and at least one other was shot and injured during a shooting at the Padock Mall in Ocala, Florida, on Saturday afternoon.
Local police indicate on X (formerly Twitter) that the suspect fled the scene and that it was therefore no longer an active shooter situation.
“We believe the shooter has left the scene and is at sea,” the Ocala Police Department wrote.
The entire shopping center has been evacuated and there is no longer any danger for the population.
Authorities are continuing their investigation and are still asking the public to avoid being in the area.
