Jordan decided to exempt the Syrian trucks from fees and services allowance, in implementation of the decision to unify the fees and implement the principle of reciprocity between the two countries.
According to the official Jordan News Agency, the Council of Ministers decided to “exempt the Syrian trucks from the fees and allowances imposed on them, in implementation of the decision to unify the fees imposed on Jordanian and Syrian trucks and in implementation of the principle of reciprocity between the two countries, which was approved by the government on February 11.”

The Jordanian government’s decision coincides with a short visit by Syrian President Ahmed Al -Shara to Amman today, Wednesday, during which King Abdullah II met.
The agency indicated that the decision “comes to keep pace with developments in the movement of transportation and trade exchange between the two countries, and as part of the support that Jordan provides to the brotherly Syrian side to facilitate the trade movement.”

On February 11, the General Authority for the Syrian Ports announced an agreement with Jordan to exempt the Syrian trucks entering the Kingdom from all the fees that were previously imposed.
This came according to previous statements by the director of relations at the authority, Mazen Alloush, which was reported by the official Syrian News Agency (SANA).
“After coordination and communication between the General Authority for the Land and Maritime Ports, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Supply, and the Ministry of Transport in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, it was agreed to exempt the Syrian trucks entering Jordanian lands from all the fees that were previously imposed (not specified their value) “.
Last December, the Syrian authorities decided to exempt Jordanian trucks of all kinds of drawings and stamps that were pushed at the Jaber Nassib border crossing with Jordan.
These measures come within the Syrian government’s endeavor to restructure and develop the various sectors of the country, with the aim of improving the economic situation after the overthrow of the Bashar al -Assad regime, according to SANA.
