The Ghanaian government has opened a widespread investigation after the discovery of a thousand and 885 fake names in the National Service Salaries lists, in one of the largest issues of administrative corruption that the country has witnessed in recent years.
This disclosure came after an intense audit conducted by the National Intelligence Service based on direct directives from the Ghanaian president who ordered the competent authorities to conduct a comprehensive investigation to identify those responsible for the inclusion of these names in the lists of national employees, which caused the drain of millions of dollars from public funds.
Details of the investigation
According to Sputnik News, Africa, the government affirmed its commitment to combating corruption in government institutions, and instructed the security services and the Public Prosecution to investigate all relevant officials in the National Service Authority.
