Member of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General, marine engineer Ibrahim Jaber, inaugurated the exhibition of the Giad Engineering Industries Group today, Thursday, in the city of Port Sudan, and inspected its various products, which included cars, trucks, and various applications of the company.
During his speech at the exhibition, Jaber praised the role of GIAD Company in supporting industry in Sudan as it is the first and founding source of industry in Sudan, and he saluted the efforts of the group’s employees, and said that “GIAD Engineering Industries is considered one of the battlefields of economic dignity,” appreciating its efforts in providing products to citizens.
He added, “We will stand side by side with all industrialists, in support of the industry and the localization of Sudanese industries.”
Jaber stressed the importance of spreading Sudanese industries in all states of Sudan, after the urban center of industry in Khartoum was subjected to comprehensive and systematic destruction, stressing the state’s support for everyone who wishes to settle industry in the country.
He added that this year will witness a challenge in presenting all possible amendments to the laws that support industry and industrialists. He pointed out that this began with the industry law last year, and will be followed by an investment law. He also pointed to amending companies’ laws with the aim of settling industries in Sudan, urging all industrialists. To work in the industrial field to provide all inputs to establish industries in Sudan.
The team pointed to the tendency to establish industrial cities in all states of Sudan with good planning to establish industrial projects, calling on everyone who stopped industrial projects after the war to return.
Industrial development
In the same context, the Minister of Industry, Mahasen Ali Yaqoub, praised the achievement made by the GIAD Engineering Industries Group, which indicates the strength of the national will in leading the country’s industrial development, and affirmed support for its efforts.
She pointed to the role of Giad Company in supporting industrial work in the country during previous years, in the fields of engineering industries and the manufacture of agricultural machinery and equipment, and praised the spread of the engineering group’s work in the various states of Sudan.
The Minister expected that the current year would witness the recovery of the industry, after the devastation suffered by the industrial areas in Khartoum and Gezira State, stressing that industry is the focus and engine of development.
For his part, the CEO of Giad Engineering Industries Group, Abdullah Abdul Maarouf, said – in a speech during the exhibition – that the group has regained its work strongly thanks to the determination and will of the group’s employees, pointing out that the group works in 3 production lines for assembling various vehicles and a line for triple vehicles and dual motors, in addition to… To a maintenance center in partnership with the Nile River University, and a manufacturing center in Al-Damer for new production lines, in addition to the opening of a large number of showrooms in the cities of Al-Damer, Atbara, Dongola, Al-Daba and Halfa.
