Barack Obama responded by calling Ethel Kennedy an “extraordinary” woman.
“She touched the lives of countless people around the world with her generosity and grace,” added the former Democratic president. In 2014, he awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the United States.
