“We are currently in Boynton Beach. We “packed” the car with our three dogs, our two children, our essential papers, and our food (…) It took us three hours. The sky is beautiful too. We are so relieved,” she breathed during an interview on the show The Balance Sheet.

The latter, however, expects to find her home with considerable damage.

“There’s going to be debris, trees, definitely. Now the important thing is that people don’t get hurt,” she added.

Pascale Banville, another Quebecer who lives in Pelican Bay, a sector of the city of Naples, does not intend to evacuate the place because she is a good distance from the eye of the storm, according to She.

“I decided to stay home because the hurricane is going to hit Tampa, which is four hours from here,” she said.

She believes that the condo building she lives in, designed specifically to withstand natural disasters, is very safe.

“I have my metal shutters coming down right now. My windows are designed to withstand winds of 250 miles per hour (…) Water levels are forecast to rise by about eight feet. You have to understand that the condo where I live is really 20 feet above the water,” she said.

The latter also took advantage of the last hours to stock up on provisions.

“My fridge is full. I have plenty of bottles of water. My bath is full, full, full to the brim. I added a little bleach. So, I am ready,” said Mme Banville.
