The polls still show a race that promises to be very close between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, but the ex-president would be advantaged by “the question of the ballot box”.

This is what Jean-Marc Léger, president of the Léger polling firm, believes.
In an interview with LCN on Friday, he explained that finances are at the heart of the population’s concerns and that this factor is to the former president’s advantage.
“On the economy, Americans are still convinced that Donald Trump offered them a better economic future than Ms. Harris,” he said on the Québec matin program.
This aspect of the electoral campaign would therefore be “the last bastion” for the 78-year-old man if he wishes to hope to regain his seat as president which he had lost in 2021.
“If he loses on the economy, he loses the election,” thinks the political analyst.
Harris in force
According to several polling firms, the Democratic candidate is currently in a swing.
It would actually be 3% ahead, according to Mr. Léger.
“It is especially the enthusiasm that is shown on the Democratic side because they were on Mr. Trump’s side for a long time,” he adds.
Money is also another element that is in Ms. Harris’s favor.
His political party would have $500 million that it can spend for the remainder of the campaign, according to Jean-Marc Léger.
This would allow the vice-president to obtain more visibility vis-à-vis her Republican rival.
Americans are called to the polls on November 5.
