The rapper’s rival, who is currently serving a 28-year sentence in a California penitentiary for voluntary manslaughter, spoke about his prison experience.
The hostility between the two artists, two of the biggest names associated with competing hip-hop labels Death Row and Bad Boy, has been going on for decades.
Speaking to NewsNation, Suge Knight, 59, explained that despite his long feud with Sean Combs, he was not going to “stand up and applaud a black person going to jail or any other human being going to prison “.
However, he spoke candidly about the experience the rapper might have behind bars, and suggested the possibility of the rapper being attacked by an inmate trying to “make a name for himself.”
“I mean one of the things is: No matter who you are, prison is a negative environment,” he told the outlet. “If anyone can do something to him and make a name for himself, he’s going to do it. Or if they can do everything they think they need to do to prove themselves right. »
Later, the latter clarified that he was not insinuating that Sean Combs, 54, was necessarily “in danger”.
“I don’t want to say he’s in danger and he shouldn’t say that either,” he said.
