US Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris will give MSNBC her first solo television interview since becoming a candidate on Wednesday night, the network announced Wednesday.

“Vice President Harris will be joined by MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle in Pittsburgh for her first one-on-one interview since being nominated as the Democratic presidential nominee,” the outlet reported in X.

The interview is scheduled to air at 7 p.m. local time.

It will be recorded in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, one of the key states in the November election that will see Kamala Harris and Donald Trump face off in a fight that promises to be extremely close.

The Democratic candidate, long under pressure to grant a formal interview, took part in a televised interview on CNN at the end of August alongside her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

During this first major media interview, she judged that America was “ready to turn the page” on Trump and defended her ideas on energy, immigration and Israel.

The vice president has since given several smaller interviews, including to a local Pennsylvania channel and on a podcast, but was a guest last week of American television pope Oprah Winfrey.
