A man died Monday after a dispute escalated over a song playing on a jukebox in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Around 1:30 a.m., a man selected a song on the jukebox at Antojitos Mexicanos restaurant near Davie Boulevard and State Road 7. 7News reported that the victim, Socorro Camacho, approached and insulted the suspect’s choice.
Both men quickly pulled out their guns, but the man who was insulted pulled the trigger first, shooting Mr. Camacho.
One area resident said he was shocked that such an event occurred in such a “good neighborhood.” “It never happens, you know,” he said. “I’m really shocked that someone got shot and died.”
The investigation is still ongoing by local police, who will review security videos in the coming days.
The suspect has not been located by authorities. He has not been identified.
