Far-right conspiracy theories, shared by conservative influencers, are attempting to link the second assassination attempt on Donald Trump to the “deep state,” the media, the military and an investment company.

These conspiracy theories began circulating when details about Ryan Routh, the man who planned to assassinate Donald Trump, were leaked to the media.
The 58-year-old, who appears obsessed with the war in Ukraine, has tried to recruit former fighters to fight against Russia.
This was enough to convince conservative influencer Charlie Kirk that members of the military and secret services could have helped the suspect plan his operation.
“What are the chances that this shooter, who spent months fighting in Ukraine, has no ties to members of the US military or intelligence? Find them,” the popular conservative influencer wrote to his 3.2 million followers.
An attempt by the “deep state” and the media?
Since the start of the Russian invasion, Ryan Routh has been questioned by major American media outlets about his willingness to recruit former soldiers to lend a hand to Ukraine.
These interviews would be proof of the involvement of the media and American mercenary groups in the foiled assassination attempt last Sunday, some conservative figures claim.
“We now see that Ryan Routh, who attempted to assassinate President Trump today at his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, was introduced by the New York Times @nytimes in 2023 and worked with the American Foreign Legion in Ukraine, which has ties to the CIA. The DEEP STATE is deep,” wrote Laura Loomer on X, a right-wing influencer close to Donald Trump.
The notorious conspiracy theorist, who falsely claims that migrants are eating cats and dogs in Springfield, Ohio, also questioned the role of the Democratic Party in the assassination attempts against the former president.

Investment company BlackRock targeted
A conspiracy involving BlackRock, one of the world’s largest investment firms, is also causing a stir on social media.
After the first attack on Trump last July, the company announced the withdrawal of one of its ads dating from 2022 in which the shooter, Thomas Crook, then a high school student, could be seen.
Netizens are now claiming that Ryan Routh also appeared in an ad for the investment firm.
“That means BOTH of them are featured in the global wealth management company’s ad. These are not coincidences. They love their symbolism,” an X account with nearly 600,000 followers posted in a message accompanying the video.
The shared clip actually shows the suspect at a protest in Ukraine, according to The Guardian.
BlackRock also denied the rumors in a post on X on Monday morning.
