Two jurors successfully arrested a Maine man who tried to escape the courthouse while handcuffed after he was convicted of sexually assaulting a 1-year-old child.
Nicholas Carter tried to run away Wednesday after receiving his guilty verdict at the courthouse in the town of Skowhegan in the United States.
The 31-year-old man jumped over a bar while handcuffed and exited through the back door of the second-floor courtroom. That door is used by the public to enter and exit the venue, according to the Portland Press Herald.
Footage shows Mr Carter being stopped in mid-run by two passers-by, both of whom were members of the jury at his trial.
The individual was taken back into custody and now faces escape charges in connection with the incident.
A hearing will be held in the coming weeks to determine his sentence for sexual assault of a minor.
