Occupied Jerusalem – The Israeli police in the occupied city of Jerusalem subjected the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Ikrimah Sabri, to investigation and then released him after issuing warnings to him.
Hamza Qutaina, Sheikh Sabri’s lawyer, said in a video statement he sent to Manhattan Tribune Net from in front of Al-Maskobiyah prison, where the Israeli police headquarters is located: “We now stand in front of the investigation center of what is known as “Rooms 4” in Jerusalem. Sheikh Ikrimah Sabri, the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the head of the commission, was summoned. The Islamic Supreme Council in Jerusalem for investigation.
He added, “The Israeli police directed almost incitement against him.”
Manhattan Tribune Net learned that the investigation lasted for about two hours, then the sheikh was released. He was investigated for a previous sermon in Al-Aqsa Mosque, and he was warned against communicating and speaking with some media outlets.
The sheikh (85 years old) has recently been subjected to a series of harassment, including summoning for investigation and a travel ban, in addition to notifying the residential building in which he lives to be demolished under the pretext of building without a license, at a time when the occupation restricts Jerusalemites from obtaining building permits.
