Rapper dies after collapsing on stage

Rapper Fatman Scoop died at the age of 53 on Saturday after collapsing on stage during a concert in Connecticut, according to US newspaper reports.

Real name Isaac Freeman III, the New York-born artist was one of the headliners of the show. Green & Gold Partywhen he suffered a “medical emergency.”

Videos circulating on social media showed the shirtless American collapsing as he made his way to the DJ deck while entertaining the crowd at Town Centre Park. The fall occurred out of sight of the audience.

Authorities were called to the scene around 8:33 p.m., according to TMZ. The concert was scheduled to start at 7:15 p.m.

Fatman Scoop was removed from the scene on a stretcher and transported to a local hospital.

The man is known for singing It’s Like That with Mariah Carey, which earned them a Grammy nomination. He has also sung with Timberland and Magoo, Nick Cannon and Skrillex.

The rapper released a new song last Friday, titled Let It Gowith Dyce Paso.
