Three children and two adults were reportedly rushed to hospital on Sunday afternoon after being electrocuted in a private swimming pool in Indiana, US.
Around 2:30 p.m., firefighters, police officers and medical services from the city of Logansport, Indiana, were reportedly called to a private home where five people, two adults and three children, had just been electrocuted in the water of their swimming pool, according to Fox News.
The “unforeseeable accident,” as authorities reportedly described it to the American media, allegedly occurred after the rubber of one of the wires of a swimming pool pump was damaged, exposing the metal part that conducts electricity.
It was then that the exposed wire allegedly came into contact with the pool water, instantly electrocuting the five swimmers.
It is unclear what condition the five victims were in, but two of the three minors were reportedly taken to separate hospitals for further treatment, according to Fox News. It was also unclear what the relationship between the five individuals was.
