The man who bought Kevin Spacey’s Baltimore mansion claims the actor ‘refuses to leave’ the property.
The star of House of Cards has sold his Baltimore waterfront mansion for $3.24 million to real estate investor Sam Asgari, who bought it anonymously at the time. Kevin Spacey, 65, said he was forced to sell the property to cover the “millions of dollars” in legal fees he owes after his 2023 sexual assault trial.
Today, Sam Asgari claims that the actor does not want to leave the house and wants to live there rent-free for the next six months.
“Right now, he refuses to leave,” the real estate investor said in an interview with Baltimore Banner this week. “He is asking for six months to leave the property without paying anything.”
The actor’s lawyer denied the allegations. “Mr. Asgari’s accusation is false,” he said in a statement.
Kevin Spacey’s property has been put up for sale after he fell behind on his mortgage payments. This happened when he was dropped from Netflix for breach of contract after allegations of sexual misconduct came to light.
In 2021, the star was ordered to pay nearly $31 million to the studio that made House of Cards, after accusations of sexual misconduct toward a person on set. Last year, Kevin Spacey was found not guilty of all charges of sexual assault against four men between 2001 and 2013. In 2022, a US court dismissed a sexual assault complaint filed against him.
Earlier this year, the actor spoke to Piers Morgan about his “bad behavior,” admitting that he had been “overly tactile, touching someone sexually in a way that I didn’t know at the time that they didn’t want. Personally, I’ve fondled people, I’ve been gentle with them, that’s just the way I am.”
