The weak presence of Joe Biden, combined with the attitude of Donald Trump, is causing numerous discussions and fears among Quebecers living very close to the United States.
If some listened to the debate, several admit to having simply read the summaries and analyses. One thing is certain, many Stanstead residents deplore the sad choice that American voters will have to face on November 5.
Here are some testimonies collected by our journalist:
“I saw the comments on the debate and it seems that Biden is no longer in his place. I am very worried about Trump’s choice, but on the other hand, the Democrats are not very strong.”
“It’s certain that the specter of Trump is a little scary (…) There are a lot of Quebecers that I know who, when Trump was there, did not go to the United States.”
“Biden is putting America in bad shape.”
“I heard on the radio that Biden may not be at his best and that his age seems to be becoming something more and more important.”
