A passenger, Virginia Brooks, who was in the other vehicle involved in the accident, also died from her injuries the next day, after being rushed to a hospital.

Witnesses at the scene reportedly saw him driving recklessly just before the accident, when he was apparently trying to overtake cars despite the double yellow line.
