A man was “seriously injured” after being struck by a roller coaster car at Kings Island amusement park in Mason, Ohio, United States.

Local police attended the scene after an individual reported that “a man was on the ground in one of the restricted areas.”

Authorities told Fox News that the 38-year-old man allegedly dropped his keys while the roller coaster was in operation. He would therefore have entered this protected zone in order to recover them.

The attraction where the unidentified person was caught would be more than 1,250 meters high and could reach a maximum speed of 95 km/h.

The thirty-year-old “would have been hit by the wagon” while he was in the restricted zone, police told the American media.

He was transported to a local hospital and then flown to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment.
