The son of a Republican elected official stole the spotlight from his father who was giving a speech to the US Congress on Monday to denounce the conviction of Donald Trump.
While Republican John Rose, a member of the House of Representatives, was speaking out against the Manhattan court’s verdict against Mr. Trump, his son Guy had fun making faces.
According to a video shared by the American political news channel C-SPAN, we see the young boy smiling broadly, before starting to grimace as he sits back in his seat.
During this time, the elected representative from Tennessee did not realize that his son was playing the clown, busy as he was denouncing the conviction of the former Republican president in the Stromy Daniels affair, according to what reported the Huffington Post.
“Whatever one’s opinion of the current Republican candidate, we would be well served to remember the long and valuable tradition we have in this country of resolving our political differences at the ballot box,” Mr. Rose in her speech.
But the seriousness of the tone of this speech contrasts with the casual attitude of the boy who stuck out his tongue and winked and waved with his hands while holding a plastic toy.
“This is what I get when I ask my son Guy to smile on camera for his little brother,” Senator Rose said on the X platform, reacting with humor to his son’s attitude.
