Santa Claus temporarily left his sleigh and reindeer at the North Pole to distribute gifts from a Los Angeles police helicopter last Wednesday, waving to the crowd as he passed.
Sitting comfortably outside the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) flying machine, Santa Claus greeted the crowd on Wednesday in his traditional red outfit, before landing on the roof of the Luskin Orthopedic Institute for the annual Children’s Holiday celebration, according to CBS News.
According to a press release, reported by the American media, more than 1,000 toys were distributed to young patients and their families during the “Toys and joys” event (“Toys and joys” in French), which has been held annually for 32 years.
The following day, Santa Claus continued his quest for an alternative means of transport, this time using the metro to travel with many families.
“It’s really fun!” he said cheerfully on Thursday, in a video shared by the police force.
In previous years, local and community businesses had greatly supported Santa Claus in his distribution, we can also read in previous press releases.
