A 21-year-old Florida medical student who killed his mother with 70 stab wounds has been charged with first-degree murder.

Emmanuel Espinoza, who was going to a family event, was invited by his mother to spend the weekend together at her home south of Orlando, according to what the “New York Post” reported Monday.

Footage from a video that went viral on social media shows the suspect holding a knife in his hand as he casually walked towards the door of his 46-year-old mother Elvia’s residence.

When his mother came to open the door for him without any suspicion, the medical student then attacked the victim by stabbing him more than 70 times, continued the New York tabloid.

“He knew where to stab her for maximum effect thanks to his biology classes,” said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, adding that the suspect tried to cut his hand after his crime before calling the police. 911 to confess his crime to the police.

The murder of this primary school teacher caused shock waves in the community where several people saying they were shaken wanted to pay tribute to the victim Elvia Espinoza.
