April 4, 1968, five years after his historic speech I have a dream, Martin Luther King, leader of the African-American civil rights movement, was shot dead at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee.

Half a century later, many people see in this tragedy not the solitary and racist act of James Earl Ray, a young white fugitive convicted of this murder, but a political conspiracy.
