A terrifying video showing a hot air balloon crashing into electrical wires above a Minnesota highway on Wednesday is going viral on social media.
The event occurred around 7 p.m. when the balloon attempted to land near Highway 63 in Rochester, southeast of Minneapolis, according to information from authorities.
The footage shows the craft approaching the highway before a gust of wind pushes it toward power lines, causing a small explosion near the pod.
The latter, welcoming three passengers, broke away from the balloon before crashing to the ground, 9 meters below. Fortunately, its occupants emerged from this mishap with minor injuries.
The upper part of the hot air balloon was seen floating a little further away. She was recovered several kilometers away.
A small bush fire broke out near the pod, but the flames were quickly brought under control by authorities.
