United States: three dead in military helicopter crash on Mexican border

Two soldiers and a border agent died Friday after the helicopter they were carrying out a mission on the border between Mexico and the United States crashed, the US military announced.

“A UH-72 Lakota helicopter assigned to the federal southwest border support mission crashed (…) while conducting flight operations near Rio Grande City, Texas,” the press release details. of the Army.

“Two soldiers and a US Border Patrol agent were killed. Another soldier was injured (…) The causes of the accident are under investigation,” according to the same document.

The incident occurred around 2:50 p.m. (local time).
