Professional bowler Brandon Novak was arrested while playing his second game at the US Open tournament in Indiana and faces several charges surrounding child pornography.

The 35-year-old was transported from Indianapolis, where the tournament was taking place, to Ross County Jail in Ohio on February 1, CNN reports.

Having abandoned the US Open tournament after his arrest, he appears on the official results list for the event as having finished 36th, which would earn him $1,500 in prize money.

He faces in particular 10 counts concerning the illicit use of a minor in material oriented towards nudity.

This arrest would be the result of work lasting more than a year while Mr. Novak was the subject of an investigation since February 2023, reports the Columbus Dispatch.

The bowler had been participating in bowling tournaments for more than 10 years.
