One person was killed and five injured when a shooting broke out during rush hour on the platform of a New York subway station late Monday afternoon.
For a reason that remained unknown at the beginning of the evening, a dispute between a number of people led to the shooting, committed on the platform of the Mount Eden subway station in the Bronx around 4:30 p.m.
Police sources told local media that one of the people shot died of his injuries upon arrival at hospital.
The other five people injured did not appear to be in life-threatening condition, but the severity of their injuries was not immediately clear.
The suspect fled after the shooting and no arrests had been announced as of early evening.
