An Excelsior Springs, Missouri man allegedly led police on an unusual chase last Thursday, when he attempted to flee from police with flashing lights on by dragging his mobile home behind him.
“He was going about (50km) an hour (pulling) this big old house. It seems like he wanted to live there. He was traveling all over the road. We thought maybe he was drunk. We approached him. We chased him all over the road,” said Sergeant Craven of the Excelsior Springs police, in a video taken up by the “Central Oregon Daily News” on Wednesday.
Instead of celebrating Thanksgiving with family last Thursday, Missouri State Police officers instead had to intervene on the highway after noticing a pickup truck behaving suspiciously, which was pulling a long mobile home behind it.
Except that instead of stopping when noticing the police flashing lights, the driver would have continued on his way for a good while, before making a sharp turn and almost overturning the mobile home, which can be seen scraping against the ground. , according to footage from the dashboard camera of one of the police vehicles.
The agents apparently tried to immobilize the vehicle using a studded mat, without success, before managing to immobilize it further, continued the local media.
The driver, whose age and identity have not been revealed, was arrested by police, according to what can be seen on the video. It is unclear whether any charges have been filed against him.
