A little girl who was traveling to Chicago, in the United States, lost her life during a commercial flight on Thursday morning. She was eight years old.
“Sydney Weston … was traveling with her family for vacation when she suddenly became ill and then unconscious during the flight,” the Peoria County Coroner’s Office said in a Facebook post.
The family reportedly immediately sought help from flight staff, CNN reported.
Authorities said the girl was no longer breathing when she arrived in Peoria, Illinois, more than a two-hour drive from Chicago.
“Despite extensive resuscitation efforts, she was pronounced dead at 8:05 a.m.,” the office said.
It states that there was “no evidence of foul play and no signs of abuse or neglect.”
The preliminary autopsy is inconclusive regarding the cause of death of little Sydney, according to authorities.
