A 7-year-old girl from Scottsboro, Alabama raised more than $15,000 selling lemonade to pay for a headstone for her mother who recently died at the age of 29.
Emouree Johnson, no taller than three apples, had the idea of selling soda to save a little money, since her family could not afford a tombstone for the deceased.
After a visit to the cemetery, the young girl opened a lemonade stand in front of her home, starting her business with just four bottles, according to CBS News.
But thanks to the promotional work of her grandmother who multiplied the publications on social networks, customers flocked to the counter set up in the Scottsboro district by the young girl who was thus able to collect more than US$15,000 in A few days.
While the affair of the young Emouree’s stand went around Alabama, a specialized company offered to offer a real funeral monument, while the money raised was used to cover the costs of funeral of the girl’s mother.
