A 13-year-old girl was sexually assaulted at knifepoint by her attacker in broad daylight Thursday in a park in the borough of Queens, New York.
The victim was in Kissena Park with another 13-year-old boy when a man appeared brandishing a knife, ordering the two teenagers to follow him to an isolated area of the park.
The suspect, believed to be aged in his twenties, then seized the cell phones of the two victims, before sexually assaulting the young girl, the police said, reported the “New York Post”.
After his crime, the suspect, who was wearing red sneakers and a backpack, fled in an unknown direction, while the two teenagers were transported to a hospital to receive first aid.
Police officers who viewed surveillance cameras combed the entire area in the hope of finding the suspect, who is approximately 1.65 m (5 ft 5 in) tall and has curly hair, the New York tabloid added.
