A 10-year-old boy has been apprehended by authorities in Louisiana after allegedly shooting two adults during an argument.
The bodies were found Sunday morning at 6:30 a.m. Joe Cornelius Sr., 82, and his daughter Keisha Miles, 31, both had gunshot wounds.
The boy was taken to the police station by a guardian after the police investigation determined he was involved in the tragedy.
The child, who allegedly confessed to the crime during questioning, has shown no remorse so far, according to police.
“I heard eight shots. Bang, bang, bang and then bang, bang bang,” a neighbor told KSLA.
Other members of the neighborhood said they heard an argument between the young suspect and the octogenarian over the use of a credit card to purchase video games.
“Joe was arguing with him. The boy pulled out the gun. Joe used to work at the sheriff’s office, so he had several guns at his house. The boy knew where they were. It’s sad,” said a man who also said the boy had autism.
This information has not been confirmed by the authorities.
The investigation is continuing in order to shed light on this tragedy.
